A couple of months ago a few wholesalers and importers met with one common interest. All wholesalers and importers have been taking a heart felt look at their individual market places and all had the same general opinion “the market has been and is still shrinking”. The reasons stated where “retailers medium to large have been expanding on their own importing and continually cutting back on domestic suppliers and with the economy, such as it is, many retailers are going out of business further cutting out the need for wholesale and import businesses. So what do we do now with the market and our businesses as they are? Each one in this small group had done a little online but only one in the group was really prepared to fully comment to online sales. Pointing out facts to their others, it was stated that during the last economic crisis many manufacturers and wholesale companies opened up outlet stores for their merchandise why not do that online? At that point ears perked up ready to hear some solutions and knew where they were being lead, online “wholesale direct”.
